Borges 15 year old Malmsey.
I love this stuff. Better than most Colheitas and some Vintages. Unfortunately my last bottle. I'm visiting Madeira this coming month and any open spot in my shipper will be filled with this.

At the Borges Lodge I wasn't wow'd by this. However there was a lot that I liked in their Portfolio and bought heavily (for me). I tried to go back and buy more during a break on the trip, but Borges was closed for lunch.

For Independence Day got a couple of Madeira ready. A Miguel Jardim Boal Reserva and a Rare Wine Co. Porto Moniz Verdelho. The Miguel Jardim is a label of H&H. Rebottled in 1969. Similar label to the Heavenly Quartet labels.

Happy 4th of July! [cheers.gif]

RWC Thomas Jefferson
Barbeito 30 year malvasia

After recently drinking a bottle of Baltimore Rainwater and now the TJ, I wonder how closely they replicate what some madeira drinkers liked in the past. They are not to my taste, coming across simple and bland.

Broadbent 10 year old Malmsey was opened tonight for one of my managers at the Fair, as she's never had Madeira before, only Port. She loved the Madeira!!!

Barbeito Reserve terrantez. This is one of 480 bottled in 2000.

1976 Blandy's terrantez. 5,829 bottled in 1997.

Overall, I preferred the Barbeito, which was richer and had a little more acidity.
