Starting up a new Madeira company

Post by Roy Hersh »

We will be visiting here on the 2015 Fortification Tour; we were going to do this during the 2014 Madeirathon, but we pretty much had a full agenda already.

This year .. for sure.

There are still lots of people who are not even aware that there is a brand new producer on the island. [shrug.gif]

Is this the first time you've heard of this company? What do you think the #1 challenge they face will be (outside of NOT having old stocks of wine)?

Hi Roy,

Happy new year!

I'm looking forward reading your opinion on Madeira Vintners. It's a really ambitious project that Paulo Mendes has started, with focus on quality and close collaboration with the farmers. I've written a handful of posts about MV last year and am really excited to follow Paulo. He's most dedicated to Madeira and you have to love the guy for bringing back Listrão and Caracol on the Madeira scene!

All the best,
Niklas

Remember this in 25 years or so; 2012 is a great year for Madeira wine!
