So, is this event definitely on? [beg.gif]

If so, I will book my flights and hotel, and select the wines. [cheers.gif]

I was hoping till the last moment that all would work out, but it seems it isn't. Sorry, folks, I truly owe you my attendance at many of these opportunities, and would even so dearly have loved to come to both days. Have all the places been filled yet? Probably so, I'd guess.

Just thought of something. Are you planning to go through 576 glasses (48 dozens or 24 cases of 24s) that weekend? Never having seen it done, just curious about how much stock in the wineglass industry I should buy!

Yep!

Roy has 9 dozen, I have 9 dozen, Sandy has 6 dozen, Lisa and Vic have 6 dozen, and there are more available if we need them. We take 'em home and hot rinse them on Saturday night so that they're ready to go again on Sunday!

INAO Tasting Glass from Marjorie Lumm. Their price varies based on demand, but is typically about $2.75/stem in a case of 36.

Great! [yahoo.gif] [notworthy.gif]

Anyone interested in dinner Friday night? I may play it safe and arrive a day early, instead of killing myself with an early departure from LAX Saturday morning. [friends.gif]

I may be available on Sunday as well, but may not know until day of. I'm running a 12k race that morning.

I know, I know, it's crazy.

For those looking to join us for out of town, I am likely going to book two venues in Seattle, so you may want to consider finding a hotel in the downtown area. When I have the venues, I will let you know as soon as I do.

Thanks!

Well it has come to pass, we have a full slate for Saturday and 14 for Sunday.

That leaves the possibility of 2 more guests for Sunday only. If they do not get filled, that is ok too. Thanks for everyone's patience and also to those that are helping me by getting their Madeira selections to me by email early on.

I will begin to lock in two venues in the Seattle area, where our tastings and dinners will take place. As part of the deal to work on getting corkage fees waived, I'll need for everyone to commit to joining the group for dinner immediately after the Madeira tasting events, or within a very short time thereafter. I will inform the group as soon as these arrangements are carved in stone.

Thanks!

Roy
