Peter Reutter in the house!

Post by Roy Hersh »

I will do some more formal tasting notes and later this week, will write up the six bottles we had of Madeira between four of us here at my home last night. Dinner wines were also profound. An all around amazing night with a few bottles that I don't expect to ever see again.

It was great to drink with Peter and I am very pleased he was able to come join us. He was so very generous with the incredible bottles he brought all the way from Germany for this get together. If he lived closer, I'd have less than a year to live.

Thanks Peter ... it was a great pleasure to be able to have you to my home. I can't believe I never brought you downstairs or to the cellar. What the heck was I thinking!!! :wall:

We polished off an additional 3 whites and 2 reds at dinner too. :winepour:

Nonetheless, we went back to the Madeiras after dinner and I actually prefered them before we sat down to eat. The next night, the couple of glasses I saved, were even better. I have one left for tonight. :yumyum:

dear Roy,
i just returned to germany with my family and looking at my TNs from the tasting i simply had to tell you (again) how much i enjoyed that evening. drinking some special old madeira wine is good enough for itself, but sharing it with others who fully appreciate the wine and give you so much more insight and perspective... that is even better :D ! thanks again for that perfect dinner and this most enjoyable evening! next time in the U.S., we will do this again [friends.gif] , promise.
Peter
ps: nice new smilies!

Welcome home!

A great evening and I should have had us start much earlier and where did six to seven hours fly so fast?

Looking forward to seeing your notes too, whenever you catch up.

I am very pleased to finally be able to have new smilies here too. The old ones were limiting and some were quite redundant. These are pretty cool.

Roy,
just finished the TNs and will post them on www.MadeiraWineGuide.com and in a new thread right here in the forum.
