Next week, I will begin the task of coordinating wines for this event. Please put your thinking hats on, as I will approach each participant, individually by email. :munch:

I talked to Amy Yip last night, and if there's still space she'd like to come. I'll help her acquire a bottle if there's room for her.

Any ideas on a location? I'm thinking about booking flights and a hotel.

I sent private emails to every individual who has a locked in spot on the list. Did you get yours, Eric (and others)?

We will be at the Issaquah Holiday Inn hotel on Saturday, Dec. 3rd from noon until ... ? [welcome.gif]

Guest list updated.

May I please ask those of you that have yet to get in touch to confirm your attendance and let me know what bottle(s) you would like to share with the group.

I will send this message, individually, by email to all that have yet to respond to my previous email from a few weeks ago. On November 14th, those that have not replied will lose their guest pass and will be replaced by those on the waiting list. Please don't let that happen. PLEASE! [friends.gif]

Hey all, sorry for the recent absence, been silly busy after an unexpected promotion. Unfortunately, that means I won't be able to make it as I'd previously planned. Please post lots of pictures to let me vicariously enjoy though!

Private emails have been sent to all participants and the front page has been updated.

More importantly, as this has been in the works for three and a half months, I am getting excited with less than a day and a half away from event time. I am very pleased to say, that having the waiting list has worked out very favorably and while I never thought 3 or 4 people from that list would all make it to the party, things worked out perfectly, with late defections and an equal number of Port lovers eager to get in the door. [yahoo.gif]

I honestly can say, the lineup has become quite outrageous, even by FTLOP Seattle standards. The bar has been raised. [cheers.gif]

12 well-aged VPs that will be blind tasted before dinner, in remarkably interesting flights. They will be followed by 10 old wood-aged wines thereafter. I've not attended a single Port event lineup like this since 2013. Thanks in advance for everyone's generosity!

In terms of FTLOP events, if the bottles show well, [beg.gif] this will give us all something to talk about for many years to come.

See you all soon! :scholar:

So few guesses! I guess people just weren't into it.

I managed to pick out Taylor on the '45 (I guessed older on the date), and nailed the 1970 Fonseca in the last flight. I also recognized the '55 Graham that I'd contributed, which had a distinct familial resemblance to the other 3 Ports in that flight, so picking dates for them knowing the parameters of the tasting wasn't too hard. '55, '63, '66, '70.

Other than those I was complete rubbish. Didn't get a single date or producer on the other 6 Ports in the VP session. And of course the Tawny session wasn't blind, so no guessing required.

What a fantastic tasting!
