Wine Shops in Porto

Post by Stewart T. »

Recommendations for wine shops in Porto for a friend who is there now and wants to purchase some Port? Any standouts that you've been to or bought from before?

There's a shop at the base of the Clerigos tower called Cleriporto. If the one I'm seeing on Google Maps is the one I purchased from, their selection was extensive. That's where I found my 1964 Warre Grande Reserve.

The Yeatman has a wine shop with a good (but expensive) range of wines.

I tend to think that the better prices for most Port are found outside of Portugal. But you can find some some of the less-exported brands at Vinologia. They used to sell bottles as well as pours.
