JM Fonseca Setubal 20 year old Roxo

Post by Eric Ifune »

Opened one from a few brought back from Portugal earlier this year.
Dark amber, gold, green color.
Wonderful aromatics of tangerines, meyer lemons, brown sugar, nutmeg.
Rich and full bodied. More citrus and nutmeg on the palate with other, savory spices. Sweet, but not as sweet as regular Moscatel (Muscat of Alexandria). Lots of depth and very complex.
Long, long rich citric finish.
I love this stuff. When and where is it coming to the States?

In that case looks like I'll have to pull a bottle for some not so scientific testing :winebath:

I can assure you that this will be released back into the USA in the next half year. I have been in touch directly with the producer when I returned a month after our visit Eric. We had long discussions and both the 20 year old Roxo and Trilogia will be coming. Likely around April-June if not sooner. I may even do a buying op to help them reintroduce to the USA and if that happens, the pricing will be extraordinary for that week.
