WSET Level 2 Test

Post by Roy Hersh »

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

I got 70%, missing the two Chardonnay questions (its flavor profile and the use of malolactic fermentation) and the epicenter of sauvignon blanc question.

Surprise, surprise... I don't drink white wine at all. I barely drink red wine. :-)

I got 90% [dance2.gif] I only missed the Hunter Valley question which makes sense as I know little about Aussie wines

100% for me. The Clare Valley question wasn't too much of a stretch, given that I had just finished consuming a bottle of Riesling from the said region ( a 2010 Knappstein Ackland from the Watervale sub region if anybody is interested.)
That being said, one of the other options was Tasmania, who are carving out a solid reputation for quality Riesling as well.

Andy - Hunter is the main Semillon area in Australia. Don't worry about not knowing too much though... I live here and there is so much I don't know.... There are 60 something official regions. Maybe I've been to 1/3 of them. Managed to get to Margaret River for the first time just a couple of weeks ago for the first time

70% - and I'm absolutely positively surprised by that... Normally, if it's not Port and/or not from the Douro, I don't drink it...
