1842 Terrantez - two bottles for sale

Post by Paul A. »

Hi everyone,

I would like to sell my two bottles of 1842 Terrantez. As the below photos show, they are in decent condition and the fill levels are well into the neck. This is a known bottling which has popped up a few times on the auction market in recent years, but the producer is unknown (although there has been plenty of speculation both on this forum and elsewhere, with H.M. Borges being a possible answer).

I am located in New York City. If you are interested then please send me a PM.

Paul

Haha well if you're genuinely interested then absolutely. That is a (recently, and very unfortunately) empty OWC of Ode To E Syrah / Grenache that is taking up space in my cellar but it seemed too nice to throw out. Also it provided an ideal surface to put the bottles on to take some snaps. I don't know if it's just me but I gain some perverse entertainment value in seeing a 200 year old bottle of Madeira propped up a symbol of a very recent cult phenomenon.

One of these has now been sold but the other is still available. I'll leave it another couple of weeks to see if there is any interest otherwise it will be making its way to auction.

Paul,

Just for grins, what did the first bottle sell for?
