2011 Quinta Nova

Post by Roy Hersh »

2011 Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo Reserva - how come I've not opened this before now, (actually last week but forgot to mention it). If you can find it ... buy a CASE. Seriously!

2011 Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo ~ Referencia, Grande Reserva ~ the bigger brother and a lot more money ... much leaner and unquestionably, I found the less expensive wine a step up.

I've now also had the 2011 Quinta Nova, Grand Reserva Classico and the 2011 Grande Reserva Mirabilis. I am now convinced that Jorge Alves and Sonia Pereira are crafting some outstanding quality DOC wines there. A producer that has been off the radar, but definitely deserves attention. I've completed tasting notes for all four of these 2011 Qunta Nova reds. V. impressive to say the least. My low score was 91. [notworthy.gif]

I agree that they are doing some really good work there. Their reds, and Ports, are really picking up steam and fast in the quality department.
