TN: 2010 Jose Maria da Fonseca Alambre Moscatel de Setubal

Post by Andy Velebil »

While I generally prefer older Moscatel's for their complexity and depth, this youngster was pretty darn good. Raisins, brown sugar, toffee, wrapped into a semi-sweet package that didn't become cloying due to some acidity in the background.

Andy, when you say older moscatels are you referring to things like Fonseca's 20 year-olds or do you also include these vintage moscatels that have been cellared. Do you think the acidity in this moscatel will auger well for some cellaring?

Cheers ................. Mahmoud.
