I have 6 very old madiers an 1829 an 1896 a few 1900s some others dont remember exact years. The corks and capsules are from very bad to questionable, fill levels vary.
Question 1. To preseve maximium value should I recork or leave them alone.
I think Reidar spoke with me years ago about adding sterlie glass beads to bring the fill level up and recork.
I have access to a local winery that will let me do everything. My thoughts were to bring levels up with glass beads, recork and capsule then have a label on the back stating the date, a witness signature, signature of the winery stating contents had not been tampered with.
Any thoughts or suggestions

Long time no see. Yes, recork them, just like you suggest with the local
winery.

Will come back about the Commodore Perry later. Do a little research first. I know where to look.
