1955 Taylor with NO rufugee inlaws on Labor Day 2005

Post by Richard Henderson »

My brother and sister in law are from Covington La. on Lake Ponchartrain just north of NO. They came to our home for Labor Day hamburgers but do not know what has happened to their house, neighbors, etc. They have been stranded here since the hurricane, not knowing the status of their home or friends or neighbors. They are in good spirits .

I felt the need to open the oldest and best port I had and they were deeply grateful and appreciative. The best I had was a 1955 Taylor. They inhaled deeply on the perfumy profound aroma as we commemorated and comtimplated amd meditated upon this tragic and life changing event. All complimented this stunning port. I recalled my parents' honeymoon to NO in 1949. We all recalled fond memories of NO, mourned the dead ,and speculated on NO's precarious future.

It is a great wine and worthy of the sad reflection of tonight as 10 of our family gathered.

We pray for our famliy and all who are lost or displaced.
