2000 warre

Post by Steve Saxon »

For Thanksgiving I drank a 2000 Warres VP a nice but simple wine. No alc to speak of but this wine while pleasent is only a notch above an LBV. I only spent $29.99 on it and for the money is a fair price but this is not the best Warres that I've ever had.

What more can you tell us Steve? How long was it decanted? What were the flavors/tannins like and I'm curious how long you have owned the bottle?

Thanks and hope we get to drink some wine together soon!

Roy, This was a bottle that I bought from PC maybe a year ago. I decanted it for 10 hours and consumed about a third of the bottle the 1st night.

Not a big nose at all, nice somewhat muted fruit of plum and fig, surprisingly soft tannins for such a young wine and no heat to speak of.

Day 2: I did get a little more fruit on the nose and finish but still found it unimpressive.....certainly a disppointment compared to the 70 Dow that I had a couple of weeks ago.

I'd love to get together for a tasting soon, I'm available 24/7.
