1970 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port

Post by Richard Henderson »

Opened and decanted early last Friday. It had 10 hours decanting. It had great color and fruit and that cooked strawberry jam spicy nose and on the palate. Nice lengthy finish. It did have a lot of heat even after the longer decanting. A little distracting was the heat , but overall a good experience but not as good as some previous bottles.

Thanks for the note, sounds like a slightly off bottle.

I am planning on opening one of these on Thursday night for a few close friends coming from out of town. I was figuring on decanting at about noon, planning on starting to drink about 8-9 hours later, after dinner.
