Have just taken delivery of a Ferreira 40yr that was bottled in 1972 - yes, very old juice!
On the neck label the name Duque de Braganca appears, which currently adorns the 20yr tawnies.
- has this always appeared on Ferreira tawnies of different ages, or has it shifted allegiance from 40yr to 20yr?

Wow, very cool finding such an old bottle of their 40 year old. I have never seen that designation before, but also have no memory of ever having seen the Ferreira 40 year old Tawny. If nobody answers that here, I can get in touch with their importer to find out if he knows ... or I can just email a friend who works for them in Portugal. First let's see if someone here knows the answer.
