It was a Port. And Roy can verify that. I showed him the emty bottle last Night.Andy Velebil wrote:Allan,Allan Engelsted Laurents wrote:Hi You Portlovers.
Tonight great friends are Coming over. I have had a special bottle for a while, not really knowing the content. Thats why I opend a second bottle just in case. But the mysterious bottle turned out to be nothing more than fantastic. When the Cork came off the entire room was filled with that sense, I just so fancy![]()
The smell of pure and simple quality.
If any body knows about it please feel free to make comments.
And the second bottle, sweet and ladylike, a Ramos Pinto 20 years, bottled in 1976.
Have a great weekend
Allan
Was it a table wine or Port?

What have You opend this week, and who stood on my doorstep last Night, with a giant Portglas in his hand?
I have been to a few tastings, But the one last Night I will remember for a long time. Just Two guys and two Ports.
And what Ports could bring Mr. Roy out of his comport zone.
A back to back tasting of the two famous Niepoort Colheitas 1934 and 1935.
I will let the smiles talk for themselves.
I hope Roy will post his notes when he returns back to US.
Live is great, also on a boring wednesday Night.
All the Best from MacAllan, and his Nice girlfriend who took the Photo, and had one little sip...

Decanted a 1975 Graham's magnum for a party tonight. Bought this a few years ago and have been looking for the right opportunity to open. Beautiful brick red color and early indications are that this is going to be a very nice specimen of this Port.

Stood up a 1960 Noval VP to decant in the morning to take to Benchmark Wine Group tasting. Their list is impressive, but no Port!

Re: What have you opened this week?
Thanks to Allan and Helle for opening and sharing their home with me and two fantastic bottles, the 1934 & 1935 Niepoort Colheitas. The friendships developed in Denmark were outstanding and Allan is a very serious collector of Niepoort Colheitas and other gems too.

A Croft Roeda 1967 and some sort of unfortified Port wannabe that said "Lynch Bages 1985" on the label.
