2011 Quinta da Gricha Vintage Port
This is from a case of 12 through the opimian society in canada. Very dark in colour, but more red tones than the other 2011 ports I have had. On the nose, rather spicy, I thought, though my dad thought more minty. In the mouth, silky smooth and very rich. Tannins puckered me up a bit but as they faded I found sweet cranberries with roasted almond flavours. More sour than any others I've had, but also quite fresh. My dad said this was his new favourite 2011 and was disappointed we hadn't bought more. Popped and poured.

How long did the bottle last? Curious if you noticed any changes as it got air.

We had it again the next day, stored in the bottle with a cork stopper for the night. I am not sure if I noticed too much difference. There was still a nice fresh, almost sourness to it that mixed well with the tannins. It seemed to possess much the same character as it had the day before.
Next time I'll definitely try to take a few notes spread apart, to see if there is a noticeable difference to pinpoint.

Isn't that a Churchill's single Quinta?
It used to be available in Alberta retail outlets but has since disappeared. I guess the Opimium Society now has the exclusive rights.
Their Crusted and White Ports were excellent.
