Ivan, that is such a beautiful bottle and the package itself is stunning as well. Good grab.

This past weekend, I made a trade. Some may see this as 100% lunacy, I felt it was a win-win for me and my trading partner:

I offered up a 1989 Chat. Angelus bottle, an absolutely world class Bdx and my 3rd favorite of the 1989 vintage. In return, he traded me for a 2011 Taylor in 3L. I was very pleased with this deal, as I now own two of them and will be able to leave these for Taylor to enjoy some day when she is much older. I realize this won't make sense to most reading it, but I know she will absolutely appreciate it some day and I am happy to do so just by giving away a bottle of great Bdx. [shrug.gif]

Makes perfect sense to me. Then again, I'd rather have a good bottle of Port instead of BDX any day.

Mag's of 1980 and 1982 Sandeman VP. Needed some 'everyday' mag's and these fit the bill.

'80 Sandeman is quite good actually. I had a handful of mag's about 5-6 years go that were quite good. Probably the last good Sandeman vintage until '94 (not sure if I had '82 or not).

Very cool. Have you tried it before? How's it rate compared to other '70s?

Haven't tried any yet, maybe next week. Would be more fun if some others were around to try it as well.

First time ever, a 20 year old Fonseca ... bought at Costco for $39.99. I couldn't help notice 2011 Taylor @ $79.99. I've had the Fonseca before, of course, but never purchased one.

Having recently had the 20 and 40 year I was very surprised at the uptick in quality over older bottlings of these. I do think TFP is doing a very good job with these recently (and the Taylor's range too).

Yeah, maybe. But that Garrafeira 1952 was a steal.
