After years of buying Priorat (started w/ 2001) and enjoying my collection, I decided to go visit there with my wife in 2010. Loved the region and Montsant which adjoins it too. This video presents some fabulous info on the region, some of its most legendary producers, but it is in Spanish ... w/ subtitles. I can assure you, that matters not if you are serious about this excellent area just 2 hours from Barcelona.

Re: Passion for Priorat?
Clos Erasmus, Clos Mogador, Mas Doix, Torres ... all great stuff. And it seems I don't have any of these right now, which is a problem.
Re: Passion for Priorat?
The 1994 Clos Erasmus was the Priorat that got me started on my love affair with the wines from this region. While in the region, I was very fortunate to get to meet Rene Barbier and his son and not only taste many wines with them, but bought all that I could carry. I did save room for some of the other great properties. One of the coolest moments of our trip was taking a joy ride downhill on a vineyard trail in Barbier's son's VW bug cabriolet that had been souped up and had crazy bouncy suspension added. Amazing to stand up and take photos out the top of the vineyards flying by at 30 mph. Good times.
