Has anyone else tasted the "James Madison" yet?

I realize I am late to the party, but I finally got my order in today and was glad there was some left. Excited to taste this bottling now that it will have had a little bit of time to settle.

I am curious if others bought some and also wondering if anyone else has already had the chance to taste this from finished bottle?

Anyway, I must say ... having consumed far more than I had expected yesterday and last night, this was the BEST of the RWC Historic Series bottlings since the original bottling of the New Orleans, "Terrantez" that was sold circa 2007. Kudos to Ricardo Diogo and Mannie Berk for a fabulous release. Detailed tasting note is completed and will be in the newsletter as mentioned. But you get the picture!

I don't have access to Roy's newsletter any more, BUT I've been nipping on Mr Madison for about a week now. The color is light, almost like an aged Sauternes. The nose and flavor is delicate, not much acid on the back-end. Having just finished a Barbeito 20 the week prior, I can say the Madison is a wall-flower in comparison.

I opened a bottle. Like Roy, I did a pop and pour. Roy was correct with the fact that this Malmsey was not typical. Leaner, more lifted and fresh (mostly 2006 juice) and less round than many Malmseys that I've experienced; like a quite sweet Verdelho. Terrific, refreshing 'Barbeito' acidity. Juicy, sweet, medium-long finish. Almost tropical in nature. 92 points.
