Yes Baby! I might be crazy. But then I am a happy fool.
I found 900 EUR in my pocket, and bought 2 bottles of Niepoort Colheita 1900 direct from Portugal.
Allan!
Now my Niepoort Colheita vertical has extended it self to:
Not really in order, But I will start with the original VV, containing a few drops from 1863, followed by:
1900
1908
1912
1927
1934
1935
1937 and
1944
My old Portmentor, had a Niepoort 1900. He told me to open it, just a few weeks before passing away (94 years of age), But I declined. And now I dedicate my two new old bottles to my old friend.

Allan,
If you ever happen to visit Niepoort and someone comes round with a Super Bock beer bottle and offers you a taste of what's inside. Never, ever, say no. Saw that happen to someone visiting, I was smart and said yes. Inside the beer bottle was 1900 Niepoort Colheita.

I was drawn by the tasting experience/cost of the Fonseca Guimaraens 1995, that I had to get some more, also a few others just to get shipping per bottle down a bit :)
6x Fonseca Guimaraens 1995
2x Fonseca Guimaraens 1996
2x Warre's 1994

My Mother got me a 2011 Q. Noval and a Feuerheerd Ruby Reserve Port--the latter brand I know nothing about but for $15 worth a shot.
Any Port in a storm!

8 x 1970 Croft from WineBid for ~$110/bottle all-in. A bit of a reach, but they looked good to me. :)

12 bottles of Burmester Vintage 1998.
Maby not the greatest vintage ever, but it is my daugthers birthyear, so I might find some use for them in a few years time.
Anybody knows how long I Can expect them to hold on?
And the Price les than 20$ pr. Bottle

It's really hard to go wrong with any VP or SQVP at under $20! Have you tried that wine before, or such a great price + the sentimental year you just had to buy?Allan Engelsted Laurents wrote:12 bottles of Burmester Vintage 1998.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
Another gift to add to the collection! My friends the Helkers know that I liked port, so they found one in their cellar to give to me for my birthday. 1997 Martinez Porto Vintage Quinta da Eira Velha. Roy gave it 92 points, so I am hoping it shows up that nicely when I open it.
It is a good thing to have friends that know you like port. :)

Allan:
I have taught my daugther very well....She drinks really Big Ports with her dad.
But 1998 is not the greatest year for VPs. But for a comming wedding.....in 10'years time....the bottles could be suitable.
No I havnt tried the Burmester. But I was'nt sure, if this specifik VP has the power to hold on for more than 10-20 years?
I have the feeling, that I should give her the lot (2@6 bottles) much soner, than I would.
Maby I should try one bottle, and leave her with the rest?
