Almost forgot - I also have a Rozes 40-yr old now residing in England. It might hop the pond prior to this tasting, though, depending on when that is.

Jeez, talk about putting the cart before the horse ... there are SO MANY other details to firm up before worrying about who has which 40 year old bottle. ![DuckNcover [foilhat.gif]](./images/smilies/foilhat.gif)

At least we are eager to get together again! I love the 40 yro idea and also old colheitas. Just hope I can make it whenever we set the date. Wouldn't it be my luck that I have to miss out on the weekend where we actually do tawnies? :)Roy Hersh wrote:Jeez, talk about putting the cart before the horse ... there are SO MANY other details to firm up before worrying about who has which 40 year old bottle.

Who cares about tiny details. As long as we have Port we're golden. If all else fails we'll sit outside on a bus bench with a bunch of bagged up bottles, pass them around, and all take swings straight from the bottle. No back-washing allowed folks.Lisa Stevens wrote:At least we are eager to get together again! I love the 40 yro idea and also old colheitas. Just hope I can make it whenever we set the date. Hey, we just had a bunch of tawnies. I know they said 1985 VP on the label, but a bunch were tawny.Lisa Stevens wrote:Wouldn't it be my luck that I have to miss out on the weekend where we actually do tawnies? :)

1966 sounds like a nice round number to have tasting based around.Don B. wrote:I have a 1966 Graham's for the tasting next year, if anyone else is thinking that far ahead…...

The 1966 tasting should be in 2016. Is the tasting we are discussing going to happen this year??

Colheita's are an area I'd really like to explore in serious depth. 40yr tawnies would also be fun, but I suspect it would be a more subtle and challenging.

In the interim, if anyone in the Seattle area is interested in drinking some Madeira soon, I'm really jonesing to drink through some verdelho...
