Basic at best and Anne needs to check her facts. There are a lot better resources than this for visiting Madeira with great articles and websites with this type of info, but with greater recos and certainly greater accuracy. Not trying to be harsh. Your adding the article is appreciated. Just that the Wine Enthusiast keeps dumbing down their writing to the point where producers care more about boasting the scores from this magazine than the content itself. I've been told that numerous times both in the USA and overseas.

You're right, I just thought it interesting that Madeira was mentioned at all. It is not really on most people's radar.

I agree with you there, but that changes when they arrive in Madeira by cruise ship and flock to local shops to buy "bordado" (IVBAM) or the occasional bottle of Madeira, or even some Bolo de Mel.
