What have you opened this week?
Quinta das Lamelas +40 YO White
One of my favorites when we are talking white ports. Very well balanced, powerful, very long and persistent taste- candy in a small bottle

1997 Niepoort VP
Cork pushed out maybe 1/4" under the capsule. Slight to moderate VA, but otherwise unflawed. I'm not bothered by low level VA so I really enjoyed the bottle.

1977 Dows Silver Jubilee VP. Had half last night and it was wonderful and lovely---only decanted about one hour and it got better over the4 evening. Put the other half immediately into a half bottle and corked it. Will enjoy the rest tonight and will give it enough air tonight. Showing no flaws at all so far.
Any Port in a storm!

Re: What have you opened this week?
Been drinking a Dow 10 year tawny that I must say is quite good . The "drier style" of Dow is more apparent in this tawny than it is on most of their VP's IMO.

Re: What have you opened this week?
Forgot a 1978 Kopke Colheita last week that I opened with some friends. It was nice, but I felt like it wasn't up to the level of the 1984 and 1974.

1955 Martinez to share with Derek T. who has missed out on our last few offlines in London and a 2000 Pocas Junior, generously opened and shared by the son of the owner of a hotel we dined at in Northumberland.
Re: What have you opened this week?
Oh yes, and bottles of Noval 1978 and Kopke Sao Luiz 1982 shared at a couple of offlines in late July, before I went on vacation.
