Raising my hand. Too bad most of it was poured down the gutters. I was told when it got dumped there were people with pails scooping it up as it ran downhill from the lodges. Sad.Tom Archer wrote:Spot on..!1973

I have a friend on the picking team for Crasto and she says the grapes are beautifully ripe and whites looking superb.
Today, in a conversation with Sogrape's top viticulurialist, Antonio Graca, he told me that the picking is underway and it has been a fabulous harvest for their whites so far.

From Frederick B. @ Niepoort: "Niepoort has more than 50% of the dry wines harvested. Its crazy. Colors and concentration are great so its looking so far to be a textbook declared year."

There's showers today, courtesy hurricane Fred, remains thereof - hopefully not too serious.
But the unexpected arrival of the remnants of storm Henri is now forecast for Tuesday, and it ain't looking good..
IPMA forecast for Regua is for very heavy rain, and Accuweather are forecasting a full 3" at Vila Real - more than twice the amount that broke the vintage last year, and three days earlier..

Re: A gliimpse into the upcoming Port harvest 2015
A what point would we outsiders gain information about if 2015 will be declared as a VP year by the different producers?
I have read it is approximately around 1 year and 4 months after the harvest that the producers will send a sample to the IVP.
Also how long is the process from the samples are sent in until the producers make it official
