The DOW 2009 LBV is a winner! Opened last night, both my wife and I really enjoyed this Port. Lots left to do a formal tasting note in the next 48 hours. I scoured the bottle several times to find a bottling year and I could not find it anywhere. That is unusual these days.

1985 Smith Woodhouse VP. First of a recent case purchase to evaluate them. Cork was more soaked and crumbly than a recently opened 1977 Smith Woodhouse, but the wine smelled good going into the decanter.

A bottle of Warre 1997 - the first time I've tasted this in 5 years - and a bottle of Warre 1955. The latter was "believed to be Cockburn 1955" so pretty close.

1997 Niepoort VP. Less VA than other bottles, but no mistaking that it was there. One more bottle to go to finish these off.

Kopke 30-yr old White Port
I still have some of the S. Leonardo 30-yr old Tawny left, so this is a fun comparison.

Re: What have you opened this week?
Been an exciting port weekend. Had the opportunity of tasting.
10 YO Tawny, Lamelas
2011 LBV, Lamelas
40 YO White, Lamelas
10 YO Tawny, Burmester (2015 bottling)
2009 LBV, Graham's
2004 Colheita, Krohn
10 YO Tawny, Krohn
20 YO Otima, Warre's
Ruby, Quevedo
Dry White, Quevedo
Special Tawny Reserve, Quevedo
1994 Colheita, Quevedo
The standouts for me were the Graham's LBV (Happy I have a 2007 at home I haven't opened yet) and the Colheita from Quevedo.
Great fun to get acquainted with some shippers I hadn't tried previously and make some new port-friends.
