Re: What have you opened this week?
For Friday Night gathering have stood up
1970 Warres
1994 Warres
1992 Warres q.d. Cavadinha
1995 Warres q.d. Cavadinha
I'll add something to this mix--I have no more Warre's VPs ....perhaps a Warre's LBV for contrast. if so might add a Warre's Warrior for educational purposes.

2003 Quevedo LBV, my last one. Time to look for some more recent vintages to defend the cellar.

Due to host constraints, we will be tasting in pairs.

Re: What have you opened this week?
Taylors 40 year old tawny. Bottled in 1995.
More freshness than I expected. Still very drinkable.

Opened up a 1995 Warres q.d. Cavadinha tonight. After reading some less than enthusiastic notes I wasn't expecting too much. We have been pleasantly surpirsed, very quaffable.John M. wrote:For Friday Night gathering have stood up

S. Leonardo 20y Tawny
Ferreira 20y Tawny
Had to figure out how the S. Leonardo stacked up against a benchmark.

Last night was a '70 Offley Boa Vista. I used the tongs as that round rubber capsule was being difficult to cut through.

Ramos Pinto 20 year old Tawny Port - same as it ever was. Very solid, although I prefer this producer's 30 year old by a wide margin.
Alex B., really glad to hear you liked the 1994 Taylor, it is really stunning and all about the upside OR a very long decant at this point. But it has all the stuffing and its greatness is undeniable.

Last night a 2004 Dalva Colheita.
Will post a TN in a couple of days time.
What kind of decant time would you recommend for such a young colheita btw?

Re: What have you opened this week?
Spent the weekend at my cycling team training camp in the lovely warm Palm Springs area. Got some great long and hard rides in. Anyways, I got tasked with picking up beer and wine for dinner on our last night, Saturday. So I found a Douro wine and a Taylor Fladgate 20 year tawny (B.2014) (that was quite good) at a local shop which fit the bill and all loved it.
