2 x Martinez 1997
1 x Quinta do Vesuvio 1991, 1992, and 1995
1 x Dow 1970

All bottles except for the Dow was under $23 :)
Were those 1/2 bottle cask samples?
Nope. Just a fellow who ran it to a bit of bad luck and needed to sell.

Auction lot, perhaps not clearly advertised made them a steal.

The bottle dosnt say. But my guess is a 1 liter bottle.
I put it on the scale, and it showed 1,4 kg. Another dumpy bottle of Niepoort weighs 1.25 kg.

As far as I am aware, this was only bottled in 1 litre format - which is a very good things as it is a fabulous port.

Came across some old TWAIOA from Niepoort. Bottled in 1978. I just had to get them...
And YES they are still very pleasant!

Tried one last year. And they are smooth like an old Colheita.

Allan, you never cease to amaze with your finds of old tawny. If only they were so easy to find on this continent.

A bottle of Quinta do Noval 2000. I seem to be building a vertical of recent Noval vintages so it seemed too good an opportunity to pass to fill a gap.

Hi Bradley! Thanks!
When I talk to my Danish Portfriends they are amazed too! Because It is not that easy [cheers.gif]. I spend a looong time searching on the internet. And I have found some private portdealers from Portugal who are 100% trustworthy.

So when the Mailmann comes, I am quite exited....
But true! Having single bottles send across the Atlantic is both costly and takes some work.

All the Best to You

This arrived with the postman earlier today. It was a shared buy that I coordinated so we could get the discount which only applied with a purchase of 12+ bottles. 3 of those babies are mine.

Should I taste 1 now and save the 2 others, decisions decisions... [cheers.gif]

Will do. Is decanting needed for a young LBV?
