1994 Kopke Colheita. I needed something tawny to go with a dessert, and with more of this ilk on the way, it seemed like fair game.

Judging from your initial thought on the '02, and my love for the '07 Crasto, that sounds like a great pair of ports.

Had a Kopke 1975 that was rocking last night, very complex, rich and long! Great life ahead, the only problem it was closed with a T-Cork, I always thought Kopke was using regular cork...

My memory says that Kopkes usually have a t-stopper. A larger than normal one, too - they don't fit easily into other brands' bottles.

All the ones in recent memory have been T-stoppers.

1947 Rocha Colheita, 1966 Taylor Single Harvest Tawny, 1991 Barca Velha Douro wine. All rocked in their own way.

I have an old Colheita of theirs, didn't realize they were still in existence.

I became unsure after reading your post. I wrote my friend and he confirmed that it indeed was a 2000 Hutcheson vintage we drank this Tuesday.

As to if the brand has been discontinued I will let others more knowledgeable about the matter answer that. But I do seem to recall that Feuerheerd and Hutcheson being owned by the Sogevinus consortium.

I just have never seen anything bottled post 1980s here in the US under the brand, but obviously that doesn't mean that Sogevinus doesn't still use them for Europe or elsewhere in the US, with our heavily fractured distribution system. I hope it tasted excellent!

Opened up a Dow 20 year old tawny. It was pleasant but didn't blow me away. I doubt I would replace it in my cellar.

1991 Croft VP. This was the first bottle from a case purchase, the worst looking bottle with SOS. I think I'll be happy if all the bottles show as well as this one.

A smooth Fine old Senior Tawny.
I sadly tore the label myself...
With a significant Niepoort-nose. I know that a normal Senior has 7 years in barrols, But a fine old? My guess is somewhere between 15-25 years.
