2 magnums of 2005 Fonseca Guimaraens VP.
I've been looking for a long time to find a (any) 2005 VP, as it's my oldest son's birthyear. So one of these will go to him, the other will maybe be opened at an apropiate time by me [dance2.gif]
When I got them home today, they stated on the labels that these magnums were numbers 3 respectively 11 of 12 mags in total bottled especially for The Netherlands. Gives it something extra special in my book! [yahoo.gif]

Very lucky, Allan! When was it bottled, out of curiosity?

Hi Bradley
Sadly no notice on the label.
In fact. I have never seen a Colheita, without a note showing the bottlingdate.
The bottle has the old selo IVP, telling me the date of the bottling was early 1970.
Truely an amazing bottle. It has been kept well for more than 45 years.

Some years ago when this lovely Lady of mine turned 50 (2013), I had a lineup with Ports from 1963, and the winner (besides me) was a Feist Colheita 1963!

1998 Taylor's Vargellas VP x 6
1991 Cálem VP 12x (bargain at auction)
1990 Kopke Colheita 3x (part of the 1991 lot, again a bargain)

It turned out a nice sunday afternoon for following the auction online!

Hi! I´m new to this forum, and also very new to port in general, although I suspect I´m beginning to get just as hooked as the rest of you seem to be... [help.gif]

Just got back from the local shop with these:

- Quinta de Val da Figueira 10 year
- Roze´s LBV 2003

It will be my first LBV (have also yet to try a vintage or colheita). Exciting!

1x 1994 Smith Woodhouse VP
1x 2004 Taylor-Fladgate Quinta de Vargellas Vinha Velha VP
1x 1980 Warre's VP
Sniped on a 1900 Niepoort Colheita, but not overly bothered by this.

Mads, yes you can link but its better and tends to get more response if you post (or also cross post) in the marketplace section.

And good haul for both of you!

Two old bottlings of Taylor 30 YO (1973)
One funny White Tawny from Wiese & Krohn,
And one of my alltime favorites, the very dry old from Niepoort.
