Sorry for my French......another fake Portvine. This time bought in France.
Could a DOW's 1927 be a fantastic Wine?
Yes, But have You ever seen it with a T-stopper......
What is wrong with the World!
How Can we fight this madness?
I've only seen one real very old Fonseca Guimaraens that had a t cork. I'll post a pic later when I find it. That is the only one and I'm not aware of any old Dow's that did so. A shame so many fake Ports are showing up.

+1 Andy.....sorry for your loss Allan...agree with your sentiments.
Opened a half bottle of Case Santa Eufemia 40 year old that I got at the Domaine a couple of years ago with Stuart.
It was showing really well. I need to get more!
Here's the T-cork from a 1933 Fonseca Guimaraens VP. It was confirmed as authentic by Adrian Bridge, who was at the tasting when this was opened (I think it came direct from TFP cellars???). The only VP I've ever seen where a t-cork was used. From what I recall, it was unknown why they used it and only did so for a very short time back then.
A bottle of Taylor's Vargellas 1967. I pulled a case out of storage and one was leaking, down to low shoulder. Opened this evening it is absolutely gorgeous!
It just isn't lasting very long!
If this is how the bad bottle tastes I am in for a real treat next year when I plan to open 2-3 of them.

Love this one, too. Oporto bottled or UK? 1969 or 1970?

Interesting. I'm assuming this was not recorked at sometime. That would mean mid-30's. Perhaps the Great Depression, or the worry about WWII?
I've had a couple of Frasqueira Madeira with T-corks. All old bottled.

No not recorked. And the small cork showed that, lol.
Opened my last Porto Rocha Three Centuries for Kari's birthday dinner tonight. Best showing of all the bottles I've tasted, truly superb. I'll try to get a TN up tomorrow.
Had a private memorial day for a friend that passed away all to young 8 years ago with some friends. It is a annual event and I provide the port naturally.
We shared and reminisced over a
10YO Bulas
10YO Devesa
1998 Burmester vintage (Brought by another guest)
Ferreira Duque de Bragança 20 Year Old Tawny.
This 1996 bottling was as good as the last one I had which was a then-current bottling. With that one I wasn't as impressed as a lot of people around here are with the Duque, but it certainly is worth the price I paid for this one, ~$20.

Is it the style or just overall experience?
I need to do a tasting with some others around here to truly answer that, but I think the Duque might not be exactly my style. Hey, it's still nice stuff I'll give you that.

Oporto bottled in 1970, with a lovely old fashioned label that says so.
