Out of the blue

Post by Roy Hersh »

I received an email from a Danish author whose book I purchased back in 1999/2000 when his book was translated into English. All of a sudden yesterday, he wrote to me, (not sure how he came upon me or my email address) to let me know that he will be updating his book later this year. I hope to meet him in the next year or two, just a brilliant writer on Port wine.

I am pretty sure Roy is referring to Henrik Oldenborg.

He has a 2016 version of his book coming out on the 7th of November 2016, the same date as there is a large port fare being held at the old stock exchange in Copenhagen.

It is almost impossible to get one of the older copies. The publisher is sold out so you have to get it second hand.

Henrik Oldenburg: Portvin, Danish (1999)
Henrik Oldenburg: Port, english version (1999)
Henrik Oldenburg: Portvin, 2. revised revision Danish (2004)

Interesting News.
Oldenburgs book together with Sucklings vintage port book have been the two portwine books that I read a lot years ago.
So an update now would be nice.
