Porto Barros LBV 1990
Hi I'm not a port drinker but in the house I've found 2 bottles of the above....is it drinkable or best left? Thanks
Re: Porto Barros LBV 1990
Not worth much. I'd open them and decant---just let it air out for several hours first.

A John said, they're probably not worth a lot of money, but they should still be drinkable and probably pretty tasty. Due to the age and rarity they might be worth ~$60-70 each at retail. In a private sale you'd expect to get about half that, so maybe $65 for the both of them together.
I'd fine a few friends and have a dinner party!

I paid $17-33 for '92 and '94 Warres and Smith Woodhouse LBVs, so I think Glenn is being generous in his evaluations.
Those could be fun to share with some friends. Do you know how well they were stored?

That's a very good deal...they run around $26-32 for recent offerings at B&M stores and these have 20+ years on them.Eric Menchen wrote:I paid $17-33 for '92 and '94 Warres and Smith Woodhouse LBVs, so I think Glenn is being generous in his evaluations.

I'm not sure that's a good thing for Barros LBV.John M. wrote:... and these have 20+ years on them.

I was referring to your purchase, not the Barros.Eric Menchen wrote:I'm not sure that's a good thing for Barros LBV.John M. wrote:... and these have 20+ years on them.
