I need some (more) 2011 VP's for my cellar (I can see a couple of open spaces ). And since it's the end of the year (so my wine/port budget is all but spent for the year) it has to have an excellent P/Q ratio. And I would prefer a house that I don't have yet in my cellar. Now I have found a place that still holds both of the Krohn 2011 releases (the Krohn and the Single Quinta). Price is almost alike, just 1 euro between them. And the prices are very reasonable. I would like 12 bottles.
What would you do?
12 Krohn;
12 Krohn Retiro Novo
6 of both
or another number of each?
Looking into my notes, Krohn is one house I've not tasted the 2011... Not sure why they did not present them to the press at the tasting event. Normally in a good year, I'd go with the classic Vintage and not the single Quinta, but I don't know much about Krohn decision for the final blend.

I have 2011's from:
- Quevedo
- Kopke
- Fonseca
- Cockburns
- Warre
Nice bunch you have there.
If it was me, sure I would buy a couple of the Krohn 2011 VP. 12 bottles then the price really had to be very very good e.g. low. 6 bottles I would contemplate. I would probably end up buying a few bottles and if we stick to the 2011 vintage I would pick up some Bulas, Ferreira and Offley Boa Vista. They are in the same price range and they are great each and everyone of them. I have tasted all 3 of them and own 6 x Offley and 4 Ferreira myself.

My 2 cents.
Cheers
Thanks for your reaction!
I've had a quick look for Bulas and Offley Boa Vista, and I can't find them over here in the Netherlands (have to admit, that I haven't done an extensive search). Ferreira is available, but is about twice the price of the Krohn VP.
I will probably pick up 6 of both of the Krohn VP's.
