1970 Dow Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind. After two other wines in the flight (1970 Fonseca, 1970 Taylor), this was found to be the least aromatic, with perhaps some leather and bacon? Yes, fatty bacon. It is really sweet, and has a warm finish. There is a little flavor of peach, along with some brambleberry, perhaps boysenberry, and there is also a little red hot cinnamon. Later aromas revealed tobacco, and even a little cigarette. 88-90 points.
