Real Companhai has released a tawny port from Quinta das Carvelhas. It is a blend of 93% from 1867 refreshed with 7% 1900. Tasting notes from The Wine Spectator (99 points) and Wine Advocate (96 points) show a concentration and intensity one would expect from this age. Does anybody know more about this tawny? I remember that Real Companhai had quite a number of ancient barrels when I spent time there twenty years ago.
I was just offered some by an English merchant I buy from and can have it airfreighted to me for about $2400. If six or more people were interested in tasting it in the San Francisco area I'd buy it. But regardless I'd like to know more about it.
