I'd give it like a 92 points, but when there is so much hype surrounding this vintage, I was expecting to be blown away.Glenn E. wrote:Huh. Interesting. I haven't had it for a while, but it has usually seemed like a 50-year monster to me. That said, we had a bad bottle at the '94 horizontal in 2014 (89 pts), and my only TN in the TNDB was at Andy's (96 pts) and had me confused about it possibly being early maturing... so who knows?Moses Botbol wrote:Was the first time trying it as well. I was expecting it to be bigger than it was. Still youngish, but I don't see it as a bottle that will age as well as lets say an '85 Fonseca or even '70 Taylor...

Had a 1990 Quinta de la Rosa LBV at a restaurant for $25 a bottle. Very harmonious port with great color and really smooth. One of the best LBV's I have had in a long time. Worth picking up if you can find them.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
I took delivery yesterday of three bottles of Warre 1969 Traditional LBV, bottled 1973. While not the oldest LBV I have ever owned or drunk, it is the oldest of the Warre Traditional LBVs I have ever seen and pretty rare to find a 1969 vintage port.

Ordered 6 x Cálem 2011 VP this weekend. Just waiting for confirmation on availability and delivery details. Got them at a nice price (just under €27 a bottle).
Update (Aug 23): Just received a message, that these were sold out unfortunately

Nothing too exciting - 2011 Taylors LBV, which was £12.50 at Waitrose... seemed value!

Had appointment far from home, stopped for lunch and next door was a grocery store with liquor store so I went in. Surprised they had a 2009 Niepoort LBV so I took it off the shelf. Behind it was a stack of 2012 Niepoort LBVs to I took one of those as well. Will make a fine pair to taste.
