1997 Delaforce Quinta Da Corte Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind. Aromas of menthol, eucalyptus, slight rubber, and spirit; more like a Taylor with the spirit, but too early to call just on aroma. Swirling gives some red berry fruit and cherry Sucrets. The flavor reveals really nice fruit, tangy, with just a hint of oxidation. Red cherry, black plum, and still has some tannins too. Very good base in the mouth, good acid, nice fruit. This one has lots of potential. Finish is long, persistent, and tasty. Nice balance. 93-95, 94 points. Give this more time, as it can easily wait 10 years, and could go 20-30.
