1970 Quinta da Sequeira Colheita port

Post by Rune EG »

Bottle was consumed in two 50/50-portions. Whole bottle was decanted 2.5 hrs, then half of it was put back on the bottle with the T-cork on the top. First half was consumed before dinner. The other half after dinner, abt 5.5 hrs after decanted.
The 2nd half was less aggressive on the acidity and thereby more pleasant. Score is given on an overall view.

Bottled 2016. Decanted 2.5 hrs. Medium to dark brown colour. Tiny bit unclear. Subdued aroma of oak, minerals and some citrus. Full body. Quite powerful, but not elegant. Taste is giving a lot of minerals, some herbs and citrus in the behind. Acidity is on the high side (quite rough). Nice long aftertaste. 88 pts.

Not a great score from what was a good vintage overall and should have produced a better Port.
