1966 Kopke Colheita Port
(Bottled 2017.) This has a more spirited aroma than the 1978 colheita, with some floral character and sugars. Overall it is much better than the 1978, but the spirit is distracting. 93 points.

Did you notice if the spirit abated over time?

Sorry, but this was tasted in a decent sized lineup (~10 bottles) with a limited amount of time, so I didn't get to revisit it much later.Svein CE wrote:Did you notice if the spirit abated over time?

In my experience with this Port, a 2-3 hour decant is a good idea. It does seem to be spirity when tasted pop-n-pour, but settles down nicely with a couple of hours of air. It has been a few years since I've had any, though.Svein CE wrote:Did you notice if the spirit abated over time?
