Bottled 2014 (Tasted September 2016)
A little complex sweet smell, with honey, leather, wine cellar, cask notes and a little smoke.
In the taste big acidity, a little smoke and spice, nuts and a little honey. Soft, full and comfortable, but with backbone and firmness in the long aftertaste. Clear light mahogany color.
15/20

Re: NV Maynard’s 40 Year Old Tawny Port
I picked up a 40 and a 30 and at such a great price, I am looking forward to trying them to see if they might become one of our regulars. Thanks for the tasting note on this one.

I like the 40. Not as complex as some big name 40’s but very good and a great value. High acidity when first opened but that dies down a bit with air.
