NV Butler Nephew 20 years old tawny port

Post by Rune EG »

Owned by Christie’s Port Wine Producer & Shipper, Ldª.” http://www.christiewines.com. They have a wine cellar and show room in Gaia, close to the Ramos Pinto yellow building.
Bottled 2016. Decanted 2 hrs. Slightly cloudy when opening the bottle which stayed unchanged throughout the time of decanting and consuming. Medium brown colour. Aroma of citrus, oak and some spirit. Full body. Powerful and quite elegant at start. Old style tawnies. Taste is showing oak, herbs, citrus and slight bitterness. Acidity on the high side and spirits are there especially towards the end. Lacking some sweetness. Medium length aftertaste. 87 pts.
