1955 Fonseca Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind in a flight of seven 1955 VPs. This was the darkest red of the bunch, with a ruby-garnet hue. The aromas are integrated without a lot of readily identifiable standouts, although there is definitely some spirit, and little bit of bubblegum. Initially presented as a little thin bodied, but very nice as such. Reminds me of Warres in that regard, but at this age, it could be anything. With time it got thicker and more powerful, leading to a score of 94 points.
