https://www.winemag.com/gallery/women-w ... -portugal/Female winemakers are rare in Portugal. Though many women train at the oenology schools, they have been more likely to work at city-based laboratories or research facilities than wineries located outside of major towns. But a new cohort has transitioned to cellar life, and like other distinguished winemakers around the globe, they bring innovative approaches to vineyard management and wine styles through meticulous standards, attention to detail and experimentation.

Re: Women Winemakers of Portugal
You can't get them all in one short article. Hopefully they'll do another with a focus on more. What I did like was the diversity of regions in Portugal. Too many times they just focus on the Douro.Eric Ifune wrote:So many they left out.

Re: Women Winemakers of Portugal
It is very good that there are more focus on women winemakers.
20 years ago there were very few, 10 years ago a few more, but the last decade we see them many places.
Education is the basic for most things in life, as it is in making wine in Douro.
Very good development.
