NV Sandeman 30 years old tawny port

Post by Rune EG »

Very nice gift box and also nice bottle (see enclosed picture).
Bottled 2017. Glass as stopper, i.e. no cork at all. Matured in small old casks. Decanted 3 hrs. Light red colour with a touch of brown at opening the bottle. After decanting time the colour is medium amber with a touch of red. Aroma of some fruit (especially apricot), dust, oak, honey and subdued citrus. Full body. Quite a mouthful and silky elegant, then oak and hints of minerals and acidity towards the end. This port is in my opinion missing some depth. Medium length aftertaste which to some degree is powerful. 91 pts.

I love the glass stopper idea for these types of Ports.
