The Rise & Fall of the Euro

Re: The Rise & Fall of the Euro
It has been since August that the 1.20 threshold was crossed. Now again it is looking more and more likely that the levee will break.
At the moment: 1.19267
Are we going to see 1.25 by the end of the year or will the Euro be closer to 1.15?
Will 1.20 become the new normal the next couple of years?

Re: The Rise & Fall of the Euro
Well, the US tax cut motivated me to check today. Things have been worsening over the past week for the US$, but it is still in the range it's been in for the past three months.

Uh oh ... 1.19265. Just about guaranteed to break 1.20 now.
Glad I hedged a bit of loose change early in the year at 1.084, but should have doubled what I invested, but I am just not that smart.

I understand where you're coming from, but Europe will screw something up too, maybe Brexit, maybe a financial crisis in a country or two ...Thomas V wrote:1.50Roy Hersh wrote:Yep!

Our "economy is in great shape" says our fearless leader. Really, so why is the US$ at the weakest it has been in 3 years???
Blame Obama. If that doesn't fly, then lock her up. Obviously joking and I'll never do it again!

Isn't this a deliberate strategy to strengthen American export. Lower USD equals more export?Roy Hersh wrote:1.25005 at the moment.![]()

Anybody have "guesses" as to which direction the Euro is headed?
Nice to see it hanging below 1.20 for the first time in months!
