NV Quinta do Mourao 60 years old tawny port

Post by Rune EG »

Purchased as part of a FTLOP-purchase possibility spring 2015. Have had several of these bottles since then and they are staying at a high level. Opened one at our 39th anniversary for our marriage.

75 cl. Bottled 2015. Decanted 1.5 hrs. Medium brown colour, but still transparent. Aroma of wet wood and citrus/herbs in a nice combination.
Full body. A “big” port being powerful with very nice elegance. This port has a depth which we rarely can find. Taste showing oak, citrus and herbs in a wonderful harmony. Also, some caramel. Minerals and tannins are extremely well integrated. Well-balanced acidity/sweetness. Superb long aftertaste. The aroma of the empty glass is so complex. 98 pts.
