Differing Labels

Post by John M. »

I love when this happens....two 1983 Smith Woodhouse VPs, same everything, down to language and punctuation except the labels are totally different. I suspect the more modern label was likely an ex-cellars bottle.

They are both ex-cellars late releases. Obviously some years apart.

They both have a computer applied code to the capsule. That tech wasn’t being used in 1985 by Port producers. I would estimate these got labels/capsules and released sometime in the mid 1990’s to very early 2000’s.

What are the actual computer applied codes? I learned the Sogevinus nomenclature on a trip. I wonder if we can decode the SFE markings.

Here's a picture of 2 different labelled Croft 63's. All were purchased around the same time in the 70's. At first I thought they were 3 different labels until it was the placement of the label; attention to detail! Drinking quite well; I like the 1966's better.

No, the page is still there but still with a message saying that the search function is "temporarily" unavailable.
