1941 Kopke Colheita
(Bottled 13 Feb 17). Amber color, brown at the rim, with a fairly wide brown band. This has more old wood and oxidized sugar aromas compared to the previously tasted Vasques de Carvalho 30, with leather, mahogany, and crème brûlée crust, browned but not burned. Great flavors with a really nice finish. Just a little too much alcohol to get more points right now. 96+ points.

Was this a cask sample? The bottling date is very specific.Eric Menchen wrote:(Bottled 13 Feb 17). Amber color, brown at the rim, with a fairly wide brown band. No, not a cask sample. But at a tasting with Sogevinus, someone explained how you can decode the bottling date from the computer code printed on the capsule. Basically there is a number on there that has the year and the Julian date of the year when bottled.Andy Velebil wrote:Was this a cask sample? The bottling date is very specific.
